The game of Bridge may also be know as Contract Bridge and as duplicate Bridge. The purpose is to
predict how many tricks will be taken. Variants can be played that determine the proportions of skill and chance utilised to win
the game. The game of Bridge is most often played by four players who form two partnerships or teams. The partners in the team
sit opposite each other. Much of bridge's popularity owes to the possibility that it can be played in tournaments with an arbitrarily
large number of players. It is this type of the game that is referred to as duplicate bridge. Competitions in duplicate bridge
range from everyday ones in numerous small clubs to World Championships and Olympiads.
